The cottage
This lovely, detached property is ideally set in a super location, just 20 yards from a sandy beach and close to many pretty coastal villages.
- This charming, detached cottage, originally the old telephone exchange, has been transformed into a cosy and couples retreat.
- Situated in a truly magical location, the secluded bay only 20 yards from the sea, Portamaggie Cottage boasts sea views from most of the accommodation. The property is surrounded by cliffs and located at the base of Killantringam Lighthouse; this is a location that has to be experienced.
- The icing on the cake has to be the private hot tub that takes advantage of the views out to sea.

The location
A walker’s paradise, the cottage is situated on the Southern Upland Way and offers clifftop and moorland walks direct from the door. The lovely sandy beach at Knock Bay is only a 5- minute walk from the cottage and is very popular for sea fishing. Wildlife is abundant, and the area has many marine visitors such as porpoises, seals and minke whales. The area is also popular with bird watchers, with many species to spot, including the resident Oyster Catchers. There are many coastal villages to explore in the area, with the pretty harbour village of Portpatrick located only 3 miles away with restaurants, shops and a golf course. The town of Stranraer is approximately 9 miles and offers a selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, and Portpatrick is only 3 miles away. Why not enjoy a day trip to Ireland, which can be taken from Cairnryan Ferry Terminal 16 miles away.
